The "2023 China Haidian High-Value Patent Cultivation Competition" (referred to as the Haidian High-Value Competition), supervised by the Haidian District Government and co-organized by the Haidian District Intellectual Property Bureau and the Intellectual Property Publishing House Co., Ltd.. With the theme of "Inspiring Corporate Innovation and Accelerating the Cultivation of High-Value Patents", the competition aimed to create a platform for promoting and exchanging ideas regarding high-value patents, facilitating the promotion and display of high-value patent projects, and connecting them with investment and financing resources to support the high-quality development of innovative entities. Since its launch on April 23, the competition has focused on industries such as biomedicine, artificial intelligence, mobile internet, cloud computing, new materials, and high-end equipment manufacturing. After six months of rigorous selection, examining the technical advancement, market competitiveness, patent layout and protection, and project development prospects, 12 innovative and outstanding enterprises and projects advanced to the finals.
This year's Haidian High-Value Competition saw finalist projects involving 465 high-value patents, 57 PCT patent applications, and participation in the formulation of 41 international and national standards. The participating projects have achieved over 60 million yuan in intellectual property pledge financing. Over the past six editions of the Haidian High-Value Competition Competition, hundreds of outstanding projects have gained public attention, received expert guidance and professional intellectual property services, attracted capital investment, and achieved a total intellectual property financing amount of 160 million yuan.
At the finals, the competing teams presented their projects one by one. Judges and review experts from universities, research institutes, and investment institutions asked detailed questions and provided feedback on the status of patent cultivation and protection, as well as patent implementation and utilization. VJTBio's General Manager, Xiong Jiansheng, provided the experts with an in-depth introduction to the industry background and challenges in the livestock reproduction field. He highlighted the advantages of the company's long-acting recombinant porcine FSH fusion protein in improving the reproductive efficiency of female livestock, and discussed the project's business model, patent cultivation, and market prospects.
According to General Manager Xiong Jiansheng, the long-acting recombinant porcine FSH fusion protein, independently developed by VJTBio, has been granted patents in China, the United States, Russia, Australia, and New Zealand. This product is set to become the world's first veterinary recombinant protein hormone, designed for estrus synchronizition, timed artificial insemination and batch prodction of pigs, cattle, and sheep, as well as for superovulation and embryo transfer breeding techniques. It aims to enhance the reproductive efficiency of female livestock, offering significant market potential and benefiting the farming industry and human food safety.
After intense competition, VJTBio received high recognition from the panel of expert judges for its innovative R&D capabilities and broad market prospects, and ultimately earning the third prize in this competition.
