On April 23, first‑year students from the Animal Science major (Future Leadership Innovation Class) at the College of Animal Science and Technology, China Agricultural University (CAU), visited Beijing VJTBio Co., Ltd. (VJTBio) for an immersive field study. The activity was designed to deepen industry‑academia‑research integration and provide students with first‑hand exposure to cutting‑edge technologies and industrial dynamics in the field of innovative animal pharmaceuticals.

The visit commenced with a guided tour of the R&D laboratory building led by Mr. Yan Lin, Director of the Upstream Process Development Department at VJTBio. Using advanced equipment and real‑world research scenarios, Mr. Yan explained in detail the development process of recombinant animal protein drugs - from cell culture and protein expression optimization to activity validation - while offering a clear, step‑by‑step illustration of the key technical steps that transform "zero‑residue" protein drugs from laboratory concepts to industrial production. Students actively raised questions on experimental design and technical challenges, and Mr. Yan provided thorough answers, sparking lively interaction and giving the participants an intuitive understanding of the fundamental principles underlying animal biopharmaceuticals.

Subsequently, Mr. Han Guo, Deputy General Manager of the company, delivered a special presentation on the market prospects and full‑scale production processes of animal protein drugs. From a macro perspective, Mr. Han first analyzed global trends in the innovative animal drug industry, noting that against the backdrop of intensification and green transformation in livestock farming, "safe, efficient, and zero‑residue" protein drugs have become critical in addressing industry pain points. He particularly highlighted VJTBio’s independently developed global first‑in‑class National Class I innovative drug for economic animal reproduction “Recombinant Porcine Follitropin Fc Fusion Protein”, as a benchmark achievement that fills a domestic technological gap and drives industrial transformation. Turning to production processes, Mr. Han systematically explained the comprehensive quality assurance system for animal protein drugs - from raw material management and production control to quality inspection - drawing on the company’s experience at its high‑specification GMP manufacturing base. His talk gave students a profound appreciation of VJTBio’s corporate philosophy: "Revere life, make medicine with devotion."

This field study not only brought CAU students face‑to‑face with pioneering technologies in animal science but also strengthened the bridge between academia and industry. As a core participating unit in the National Key R&D Program of the 14th Five‑Year Plan, VJTBio remains steadfast in its mission "Caring for Animals, Committed to Humanity", and is dedicated to achieving "0‑to‑1" breakthroughs in animal protein drug development. Looking ahead, both parties will continue to deepen their industry‑academia‑research collaboration, injecting fresh momentum into cultivating future leaders in animal science and fostering the high‑quality development of the sector.
