On July 8, the National Science and Technology Award Conference, the Academician Conference of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the 11th National Congress of the China Association for Science and Technology were grandly held in Beijing. The conference announced the winners of the 2025 National Science and Technology Awards. The project "Innovation and Application of Batch Synchronized Reproduction Regulation Technology for Improved Breeding Sows", completed with the participation of Mr. Luo Haoshu, Chairman of VJTBio, was successfully awarded the Second-Class National Award for Technological Invention, injecting strong technological momentum into improving the quality and efficiency of China’s livestock industry.

The project was led by Professor Tian Jianhui from China Agricultural University, in collaboration with Researcher Liu Yan and Associate Researcher Bai Jiahua from the Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences, as well as Researcher Wang Dong from the Institute of Animal Sciences, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. After 14 years of joint efforts, the team successfully overcame three major industry bottlenecks: low estrus rates in gilts, embryo loss, and the lack of key drugs. The project pioneered a technological system for batch synchronized reproduction regulation in sows, which not only achieved efficient and synchronized estrus but also solved the global challenge of embryo loss, and ensured the independent controllability of core drugs along with their export to foreign markets.

As a benchmark for collaborative innovation among industry, academia, research, and application, VJTBio fully leveraged its industrial advantages in the project, undertaking critical roles in product development, technology implementation, and market promotion. Chairman Luo Haoshu led the R&D team with over a decade of deep commitment to animal biopharmaceutical innovation, successfully establishing an independently controllable industrial platform for recombinant protein biopharmaceuticals. By overcoming core technological challenges such as protein modification and high-density expression, the company has established a comprehensive system of innovative biopharmaceuticals tailored to support full-cycle batch production management in sows, effectively bridging the gap between laboratory research and largescale commercial pig farm application, and creating a complete industrial chain from fundamental research to demonstration on farms.

As a participating enterprise, VJTBio has always maintained a humble and pragmatic approach, fully recognizing that this award would not have been possible without the foundational research contributions of university teams, the demonstration support of industry partners, and the sustained policy backing from the state. Looking ahead, the company will take this achievement as a new starting point to further deepen the collaborative mechanism among industry, academia, research, and application, accelerate the widespread adoption of the award-winning technologies, and iteratively improve comprehensive livestock breeding solutions for pigs, cattle, and sheep. The company will continue to focus on “bottleneck” technologies in the livestock sector, intensifying R&D efforts in recombinant proteins and novel reproductive biopharmaceuticals, empowering industrial transformation and upgrading through scientific and technological innovation, and contributing its corporate strength to the comprehensive advancement of rural revitalization and the building of an agricultural powerhouse.
